I Have a Question
Why doesn’t the translation of the Egyptian papyri found in 1967 match the text of the Book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price?

Michael D. Rhodes, researcher in ancient scriptures, Brigham Young University. The papyri in question are a part of the collection of Egyptian mummies and papyri that the Prophet Joseph Smith bought from Michael Chandler in 1835. After the Prophet’s death, the papyri were lost to the Church. But in 1966, Dr. Aziz S. Atiya, a professor of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Utah, discovered some twenty-two separate papyri fragments in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, which were clearly part of Joseph Smith’s original collection. The papyri were acquired by the Church, and they are now located at Brigham Young University.

So it seems there's some other bloke the Lord has in mind to get my wife and kids through the eternities. I can't help but look around and wonder who it may be. I hope it's Brigham Young.

Salvation of Women Whose Husbands Will Not Embrace the Gospel

Question: "I have tried to be a good Church member and have a strong testimony of the gospel, and the older I get the stronger is my faith. I am married to a non-member. We have three children. Two are married and were married in the temple, and the third is going to be. My husband does not show the slightest interest in the Church; in fact, he shows some resentment against it. I used to plead with him but have learned that it does no good.

"I can live my life out this way, but what will happen to me and my children, who are faithful members, in the resurrection? I want my children and my grandchildren more than anyone can know, but how can this be accomplished if conditions remain as they are?"

Man, oh man... Dial-up internet access BLOWS! I'd write more but I'm already impatient from waiting for this screen to load.

As we celebrate America's birthday (or day of conception depending on how you look at things) I offer a few freedoms for which I'm personally thankful. This is a short and certainly incomplete list but which hits the highlights.
I know America is not unique in all of these areas but there are a great many nations (a vast majority) where such liberties are not so fully enjoyed.

Freedom of religion.
