Airing out

I usually don't like to air out my dirty laundry, but I couldn't
resist taking a picture of my mountains....of laundry!

Kiss and Tell

My girls are growing up and I can't stop it and it's driving me crazy. Morgan is in 9th grade and is very social. She has a group of friends that she loiters with on a very regular basis. These are her Bizatches. Meaning she has now started getting mail at her friend's house and her friends' moms are named Mom2, mom3, mom4, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Lately she has been hanging out with the Home Boyz too. I can't help but like them. They talk to us, Paul and me, and don't seem to want to hide in the corner when I come around like they are hiding something. To be truthful and fair they are just nice kids, even if they are sportin' the shag.

Not long ago, Morgan had informed me that she had a crush on one of the boys. That didn't surprise me. He is cute, plays the piano really well and seems to be a gentleman. Come to find out he also likes her. They have reveal their barely-pubescent love for each other. Duh! I knew that was coming.

Being concerned, I have monitored the situation daily, quarterly, hourly and for that matter every stinking moment. I am very good at detecting what Morgan is up to and ask her flat out questions like, Has he kissed you!?

Morgan: Uhhhh....(sheeplishly)

Me: Really...?

Morgan.....yesssss....

Morgan is NOT good at lying. I rely on this most heavily. I hope she never perfects the talent. I don't want to ever give her the chance to practice. I am sure that there will be times where she will disappointment me. But I love her. She is my baby girl, whose hair I used to adorn with pink sponge rollers. The little girl that would sit and watch the Winnie-the-Pooh constantly. She learned how to jump very early in life because she wanted to jump like T-I double g-er.

I want her to know that she can come to me when she needs to. Do I believe that she is to young to be kissing boys....? YEAH, I wish she would have waited. But I can't change that now.

Paul and I have now invited the kids to hang out at our house . Meaning...If you want to hang out with the kissing man you will be under our watchful eyes. Thank you very much!

Ego Trip

If you know me, you know that I love fabric and sewing. I love color and textures and forming them into a piece of art.

Well about nine months ago I was in a fabric store buying fabric for one of my etsy purses. Just out of curiousity I asked it they were hiring. Sure enough they were and jumped at a chance to give me a application and pretty much offered me the job before I stepped out the door. I only needed to pass the interview the next day.

I was hired. It has been a whirlwind of fun and not so fun ever since. I have worked two job and keeping my etsy store stocked. Not leaving much time for anything else. I feel like my kids are growing up and I haven't been there to watch.

Last month I found out the fabric store decided to hire another Assistant Manager. Not feeling that I had been at the store long enough and so I didn't worry about applying. I didn't feel like I was in the running. The store owers and Manager were always there to encourage me and make me feel like I was doing a good job for them, but I didn't want to step on anyone's toe. Especially because I was at the bottom of the totum pole. Anywhoo....My manager advised the store owners that I would be the best fit. To make a long story short. I got the job. I have better hours and better pay. I will be quiting my school job. Giving me more time with my family. My etsy shop will always be there for my creative outlet.

I am really excited about my new job. It's really scary, but with a little training I think I can do it and it's been really good for my ego.

A day in the life....

Work...That is what I did today. I went to work at 8:15 this morning and taught little kids how to read, write and wipe their nose. Comforted a little boy that doesn't ever seem to have a place in the world and was told by another boy that I was really mean and should be fired. Go figure...

I came home finished a purse that I sold five days ago and another purse I sold two days ago. Both of which need to travel half way around the world to be hopefully loved and cared for by their owners.

Meanwhile my baby girls came home from school. I gave them some love and a list of chores to do. Also leaving a list of chores to do for the older girls. I had to leave a little early so that I could go to the post office and mail my packages out.

Going to the post office SUCKS! Especially if the packages are going foreign. I now know why alot of etsy seller do not sell to people in foreign countries. Writing addresses in thriplicate. I've decided an address stamp is a must!

I barely made it to my last job of the day. A job that I enjoy. I love working with the fabric and the customers. I love to sell people fabric that they don't need. I am a fabric pusher. People are addicted to buying fabric and I use that to my advantage. I was there for almost seven hours tonight. Now I am sitting in my family room at 11:42 at night wondering how in the hell I am going to get up in the morning to be to work at 9:00 sharp. Does anyone have any energy I could borrow?
